Whether you knew him as William, Dad or Bill
A place in your memory he would instil
Milk Boy, Butcher and Cabinet Maker by trade
Care and craftsmanship in each object he made
Meeting the Love of his Life Hazel when very young
Their adventure together had just begun
His Children & Grandchildren meant the world to him
Their fun & lively antics did keep him trim
On Sundays he would teach David to fish
A tasty pint of Whitbread next he would wish
A loyal football fan of West Ham United
The winning results would leave him delighted
Ballroom Dancing with Hazel he took great delight in
Quickstepping her round as quick as lightnin’
Weekends in his beautiful garden he would enjoy
Even though many hard hours this did employ
His favourite flower was the Rose
Many with scents to treat the nose
Though our eyes with tears may fill
As we raise a glass of Whiskey to Bill
Sure that we would be forgiven a cry
On this sad day as we say Goodbye

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
